James Morrison to Rise and Shine with Tamborine Mountain

A great line up of Australian entertainment is set to rock out in Tamborine Mountain on Sunday 26 May, as part of the Rise and Shine Queensland tour.

Premier Campbell Newman said the Government’s partnership with Queensland Music Festival would deliver musical tours to regions hit by devastating weather earlier this year.

“I invite the community of Tamborine Mountain to come together to enjoy a free afternoon of family activities, a barbeque and live music,” Mr Newman said.

“Jazz trumpeter James Morrison, rocker Deborah Conway, blues artist Karl S Williams and local cabaret singer Margy Rose will take to the stage for an afternoon of great Aussie entertainment.

“It will be the perfect opportunity to take a break, reflect on the year and celebrate the Tamborine Mountain community spirit.”

Rise and Shine Queensland, which tours to ten communities across the state, is being programmed by Queensland Music Festival, led by Artistic Director James Morrison.

"I'm thrilled at the chance to join these wonderful performers the communities in their celebrations,” Mr Morrison said.

Rise and Shine Queensland will be held from 1pm, Sunday 26 May, at the Tamborine Mountain Sports Association grounds.
