NHWA Community Funding Grant
General locations for the signs have been identified and Local Council & Main Roads are currently working through technical matters to pinpoint precise locations that meet their specifications. We hope to have signs erected in the coming weeks.
Late
last year the Federal Government announced that Neighbourhood Watch
Australia had been allocated funding from the Proceeds of Crime and
this would then be allocated to local NHW Groups on the basis of an
application benefiting the community.
On
the suggestion of our NHW Police Liaison Office, Senior Constable
Scott Guerin, and with the agreement of the meeting, we successfully
applied for funding to erect Neighbourhood Watch signs at strategic
points on roads all over the mountain. This signage is a visible
reminder to residents and visitors alike that we support and promote
Neighbourhood Watch in our area and that safety and security are
front-of-mind.
