Safety tips

Everyone has the right to safety and a lifestyle without fear.

• Get to know your neighbours - exchange telephone numbers and keep an eye out for each other's homes
• When you are home, lock doors in areas of the home that are unoccupied
• When leaving the house, lock all doors and windows - keys should be removed from internal doors
• When you are out, leave a light or radio / television playing to give the 'lived in' look
• Keep cash and valuables out of sight
• Avoid leaving a house key under the door mat, pot plant, letterbox etc.
• Mark/engrave & photograph valuable property
• Know which doors and windows you can use in an emergency
