Guerin shows just some of the items that will be auctioned at the Charity Golf
Day on Friday 13 September 2013:
A set of three limited
edition prints of the Beatles when they toured Australia, a golf ball display
cabinet locally handcrafted by Les Cowan, original artworks by Wayne Clements
and Anita Rowney, an assortment of Careflight and Police soft toys and a signed
2005/2006 Kangaroos Jersey.
There will be something
to appeal to everyone in either the auction or as raffle prizes, with local
businesses donating accommodation, meals, wines & liqueurs, family fun
passes, jewellery, sporting memorabilia and sporting goods.
Proceeds go the RACQ
Careflight Rescue service which is invaluable in an area such as ours. Here are
just some of the missions they’ve completed recently:
4/07/2012 - CareFlight was tasked to Clagiraba where a minivan and truck collided.
Seven people were injured in the accident including children.
26/08/2012 - CareFlight airlifted a mother and daughter injured in a serious three-car
smash in Canungra. Several other patients from the same crash were airlifted
separately by other rescue helicopters.
23/09/2012 - CareFlight airlifted a 50 year old female tourist with a twisted right knee
out of O’Reillys in the Lamington National Park.
28/04/2013 - CareFlight was tasked to Springbrook National Park to airlift a woman in her
sixties who slipped on some rocks while bush walking, fracturing her left ankle
and sustaining a minor head injury.
4/05/2013 - CareFlight
airlifted a 51 year old female from a property at Guanaba who fell from a horse,
injuring her neck and stomach and then having the horse fall back and rolling on
top of her.
