Arson at the Botanical Gardens

Our heartfelt condolences to the wonderful volunteers that live and breathe what we enjoy as the Tamborine Mountain Botanical Gardens after the inexcusable actions of criminals that destroyed the shed and its contents to the value of about $90K on Thursday evening the 12th September 2013.  It occurred around 5.30 – 6.00pm and a female and male voice were heard at the scene indicating we believe at this stage two suspects at least involved.

Please, people get your detective caps on as this is the second attack in two weeks (previously burned the Bali Hut) and we need to bring these offenders to justice.  We will be patrolling the area as much as possible and hope that those of you living in the area of Kinabalu, Forsythia and environs look out for suspect individuals loitering around the gardens area.   Please alert us or record details of vehicles or descriptions of youths (mobile phone cameras are the best!!!!!).

Break and Enter Gallery Walk – Tamborine Dreaming (overnight 12th Sept)

It seems the same night of the Arson above, offenders (female included) have scaled the back verandah of Tamborine Dreaming and jemmied their way in and stolen property therein.  Included in the property stolen were distinctive ladies shirts as pictured here (diamante butterfly with "Tamborine Mountain Australia") and any person with information that could lead police to the offenders will have many on the mountain breathing with relief!!!

We are also confident that forensic evidence located at the scene will have this matter solved one day (sometimes new criminals are yet to be fingerprinted).

Stealing from Motor Vehicles - Golf Course Road (overnight 12th Sept)

And again! Same night, at Golf Course Road and two vehicles parked in unsecured garage were ransacked for property stolen including jewellery, wallets and credit cards.  Seems they started one end of the Mountain and left the other with a trail of criminal activity.  Alas, this is unfortunately all too often on the Mountain and rarely are we dealing with local people - rather offenders visiting our beautiful community and leaving their grubby mark behind!

Stealing from Motor Vehicle

Syphoning fuel from two vehicles also occurred in Caryota Court over night on the 14th however we are pretty sure we know exactly who is responsible for this and happy to report that we may not arrest them for this, they are no longer living in the area!!!

Let’s Solve the Arsons!

We have experienced a few other problems these last few weeks which police are dealing with, nominated suspects and offenders, and very sad to report that our good  run of no crime has suspended it seems.

We have new offenders to find in our budding Arsonists and again implore any person with knowledge of those responsible to contact us urgently.  A Fire officer was seriously injured responding to this incident and required urgent surgery.  If that doesn’t raise the bar to totally unacceptable I don’t know what will!!!    AVAST!!!!
