Welcome
to our last newsletter for calendar year 2014…Where
has the year gone? I can’t believe Christmas is nearly here
again...
Our last meeting, held in August, was the AGM.
Yet
again I would like to sincerely thank Frank Thorndike(Secretary),
Leonie Rowe(Treasurer) and Sean O'Kelly(Editor) for continuing to
offer their services to serve on the NHW committee. Their efforts are
most appreciated and are vital to the continuation of our NHW Group, as are the efforts of all of our members.
Leonie
Rowe has not re-nominated for the Treasurer’s role. Leonie has worn
the Treasurer’s hat for some years and on behalf of the local NHW
community I would like to thank Leonie for her stellar participation.
At the AGM we believed that we had a volunteer to take on the Treasurer’s role but ill-health has put paid to that offer. If anyone is interested in assuming the role of North Tamborine NHW Treasurer please come to the next meeting and make your intention known or contact a committee member and let them know you are willing to offer your support within the committee.

I
am thrilled to announce that, at the AGM, Ann Neary offered to
assume the role of Assistant NHW Area Coordinator. Welcome to the
team Ann and thank you for volunteering for the role.
With
summer and the Christmas holidays bearing down on us, it is perhaps a
timely reminder to be aware and exercise caution – fire safety and
security in and around the home should be front of mind at this time.
It
is looking as if we are in for a long, hot and dry summer – this
does not auger well in matters of fire safety.
Remember
– Get Ready for any potential disaster….
Merry
Christmas one and all, and have a safe, happy New Year.
Until
the next newsletter, stay safe!
Anne
