November 2015 - How secure are your premises?

With the warmer weather upon us it is considered timely to remind everyone to keep their homes secured as it is very tempting to leave windows and doors open to let the fresh breeze through.

It is important to remember ventilation can still be achieved by utilising the locking devices already available on security screen doors, or in the event you don’t have screens on your window, by utilising something as easy and cost effective as a piece of wooden dowel.

Over the next couple of months many of us will be inclined to spend more of our time outdoors, either in the garden, or if you’re lucky enough, by the pool.

Please remember, if you’re hanging out in your backyard, ensure the front of your home is secured - this includes your garage roller door.

Don’t give thieves easy access to the property you have worked so hard to attain. Remember to lock up.

Our Volunteers In Policing, Garry & Marianne, offer free of charge home security audits. Just ring the Police Station on 5545-3473 for any enquiries or bookings.

Note to self – if you are planning on going away over the upcoming holiday period please be sure to let Garry & Marianne know so that your property can be periodically patrolled in your absence.
